What if I don't know my child's schedule?
Our team of 40 teaches from 9am-9pm, Monday through Sunday, so there’s almost always a time that suits. We organise the classes after booking as slots are constantly shifting with new parents joining.
What age group is this for?
We specialise in students from 6th class up to 6th year. Anything younger or older and we’re not the right fit. Our methods work phenomonally well with secondary school students and those getting ready to make the jump. Outside that range however, we’re guessing more than helping.
Who are the tutors?
I’m glad you asked. This is what sets Dublin Maths apart. Every session is fully 1-1, taught by the strongest tutors in the country. We only hire and train the best of the best. Our 3 stage interview process finds tutors who are exceptional at maths, but more importantly, are incredible at explaining it. People who can make difficult concepts feel simple, whilst also giving your child the encouragement and confidence they need to tackle even the toughest exam questions.
Once you experience a top 1% maths tutor, you’ll never want anything else for your child.
Do you cover a curriculum?
The simple answer is that it depends. For students who aren’t in exam years, we always start by identifying their weaknesses, and building from there. Once the foundations are solid, we move into current affairs, such as what they’re covering in class, prep for an upcoming test or support with tougher homework questions. If we notice a specific gap that’s limiting their progress, we’ll focus on that (with permission from the parent)
For students in exam years, things run slightly differently. In 3rd and 6th year, our approach is stricter. Our philosophy is that ‘class tests won’t matter in June’. There are major topics that must be fully understood to perform well, so we prioritise getting those nailed before chasing whatever the class happens to be doing that week. If a student wants help on a particular topic, we will cover it, though we may occasionally advise against this depending on where they’re at. Our #1 goal is to improve your child’s maths ability and confidence.
Is it the same tutor?
Yes. Once you’re happy with the initial setup, it’s same tutor, same day & same time.
How do I monitor progress?
After every session, the tutor sends a full class summary on what was covered, and a short, detailed description of your child’s performance. This tutor report may include details on understanding, improvement, information retention and class engagement.
Every session is recorded and available for playback.
